About The Little Writers Workshop

The Little Writers Workshop was founded in 2016 by published author Jae Henderson. She realized after being asked by several parents to speak to their child about writing that there was a need for this type of instruction in the community. There are hundreds if not thousands of children under that age of 12 who are interested in writing short stories and books but they need to proper instruction to make sure that it is done right.

Hello Little Writers, Parents and Youth Leaders!

I am so excited to be able to present this program I created for you. I look forward to connecting with many of you in the future so I can share my knowledge of writing and the publishing industry. Writing a story or a book you can be proud of is a great accomplishment. Let's make it one of yours!

What Happens During the Workshops?

What Happens During The Little Writers Workshop?

Each Little Writers Workshop is approximately two hours long. During this time, little writers are introduced to the fundamentals of writing a story. Several examples are given and then the students are given an opportunity to write their own story. The instructor reads what they've written and provides feedback on how to make the story better. If time permits, the student will share their story with the entire group.

We create specific writing exercises for ages 7 - 9 and 10 - 12 to ensure that they are specific to their level of understanding and execution.

Before they leave, each student will receive a certificate signifying that he or she has completed the Little Writers Workshop that they can display for all to see.
